You know the ritual.
Wash day. You reach into the machine and one pad has folded clean in half. The other has escaped entirely, off to join the graveyard of orphan foam squares at the bottom of the drum.
So you spend the next fifteen minutes feeding a damp bit of foam back through a hole the size of a letterbox, trying to flatten it out, only for it to curl straight back up the moment you let go.
